TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES YOU MUST SIGN UP ONLINE-SEE LINK https://www.dignityhealth.org/bayarea/locations/dominican/classes-and-events/exercise-and-fitness MONDAY Beginning Tai Chi/Qigong LIVE ZOOM ONLINE CLASS > Instruction includes Qigong Energy breathing exercises, Tai Chi for Arthritis Joint Warm Ups, Concentration Practice, and instruction in the movements 1-6 of the Tai Chi For Arthritis Form. The core movements of the Tai Chi for Arthritis form will be taught over 2-3 consecutive class series. Most students find benefit in repeating the course to integrate the movements into daily practice or to benefit from the support of group practice. Students must be visible including legs and feet so that the instructor can monitor your safety and understanding of class concepts. Students should be able to walk without assistive devices to participate in this class. Beginners are warmly welcomed, no experience necessary. Monday 1/4-2/22/21 9:30-10:45 6 sessions (no class 1/18 or 2/15) Monday 3/1/-4/5/21 9:30-10:45 6 sessions Monday 5/17-6/28/21 9:30-10:45 6 sessions (no class 5/31) TUESDAY Tai Chi/ Qi Gong: Sun 73 Form LIVE ZOOM ONLINE CLASS (For advanced tai chi students, by instructor permission)- Students should have taken the Tai Chi/Qi Gong Core and Extension Movements Classes and the Advanced Sun Style Form and the Yang Form to attend this class. This class includes Qi Gong Warm-ups, Concentration Practice, and instruction in the Sun 73 Form. TCA 1 & 2 and Yang Form will be part of the warm up practice for experienced students to maintain knowledge of these forms. The Sun 73 Form will take a minimum of 18 months to learn. Students must be visible including legs and feet so that instructor can monitor your safety and understanding of class concepts. Tuesday 1/5-2/23/21 9:30-11:00 8 sessions Tuesday 3/2-4/27/21 9:30-11:00 8 sessions (no class 4/6) Tuesday 5/18-6/29/21 9:30-11:00 7 sessions WEDNESDAY Tai Chi/Qigong – Yang Form. LIVE ZOOM ONLINE CLASS This class is recommended for experienced students who have completed the Part 1 and Part 2 Tai Chi/Qi Gong Sun Style Classes. This class includes Qi Gong Warm-ups, Concentration Practice, and instruction in the Yang 24 Form. Elements of this form have been included in numerous studies proving the efficacy of Tai Chi for health promotion and reduction of falls. Most students will take at least 18 months to learn the entire form. Students should be able to walk without assistive devices to take this class. Students must be visible including legs and feet so that instructor can monitor your safety and understanding of class concepts.
