Blooming Lotus Tai Chi offers classes and provides information about Tai Chi and Qi Gong in the greater Santa Cruz, Monterey, and Santa Clara County area.

We are trained in the rare Nam Hoa Temple style. All instructors have studied directly with, and are certified by Nam Hoa Temple Internal Arts Association Tai Chi Master Jim Scott-Behrends.

Some of our instructors have also trained in the internationally recognized Tai Chi for Health Programs.

August 16, 2016 New Classes Starting the Week of August 22nd

August 16, 2016 Chi Weekend a Wonderful Gathering

Master Jim Scott-Behrends led a Chi Weekend training July 16-17, 2016 enjoyed by students from the Greater Monterey Bay area and a contingent of students from Southern California. Students were able to improve their practice and depth of understanding of Nam Hoa Internal Arts Forms, Stick Practice, and Push Hands Practice. He is planning to have another Chi Weekend at the end of November or in early December. The workshop page will be updated when the details are confirmed.

June 19, 2016 Summer/Fall Tai Chi in the Park with Rodney

April 4, 2016 Mindfulness is Spreading Far and Wide

NPR featured a story on April 3, 2016 on the use of Mindfulness Practice in the schools. A new program Mind Up utilizing mindfulness principles has been found to be beneficial for students and teachers. Our Tai Chi Concentration Practice is a form of mindfulness training. We support our mental and physical balance with this practice.
