Blooming Lotus Tai Chi offers classes and provides information about Tai Chi and Qi Gong in the greater Santa Cruz, Monterey, and Santa Clara County area.

We are trained in the rare Nam Hoa Temple style. All instructors have studied directly with, and are certified by Nam Hoa Temple Internal Arts Association Tai Chi Master Jim Scott-Behrends.

Some of our instructors have also trained in the internationally recognized Tai Chi for Health Programs.

See our schedule page for class information. Feel free to contact us by email or to contact individual instructors for questions about class content.

October 13, 2016 Chi Weekend is Happening October 29-30, 2016 with Master Jim Scott-Behrends

Join us for a weekend of deepening our practice as we explore a wide variety of Internal Arts we do not normally practice in the weekly classes. This will include Wei Tou (way tore) Qigong, Organ Cleansing, Swimming Dragon, Zhan Zhuang, Wuji Qigong, Nine Gates, and Push Hands Practice. The first day will be held at the Vince DiMaggio Center in Marina, and the second day will be at Master Jim’s home in Watsonville. See workshop page for registration details.

September 24, 2016 Practice Will Support Your Health

Tai Chi has been found to be beneficial for the prevention of falls, improving physical and mental balance, decreasing knee and back pain, improving sleep, and decreasing stress. The greatest benefit comes with 3x week practice. If you can only go to class once a week it is important to practice at home or with tai chi friends. You may want to check in with your classmates to see if they would like to meet up. Happy Practice.
