Kevin Smith

Biography

I began studying Tai Chi with Master Jim Scott-Behrends in August, 2008. As I experienced the shapes and gentle flow of Tai Chi I soon discovered that I was learning an ancient movement practice of remarkable depth and power. Tai Chi has offered me a high level of peaceful well-being, softening and releasing old unhelpful habits of mind and body. I continue to train with Master Jim, learning new forms and deepening my practice. Today I am grateful to share with others the many benefits of Tai Chi. I was certified to teach the Longevity Tree form in October, 2010. Currently I am working toward my certification in the Nam Hoa Yang Application and Energy forms.

I live in Iowa with my husband Jeff, and offer classes and private instruction in the Iowa City area. In addition to my Tai Chi practice I enjoy writing, piano, reading, walking, and cats.
